https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=uStvYeB0iOU&embeds_referring_euri=https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/&source_ve_path=Mjg2NjQsMjg2NjY&feature=emb_logo For the 2019 Chinese Zodiac keyboard, Ducky is privileged to collaborate with Master Kulele Ruladen We believe that this limited keyboard is a unification of technology and the Formosan culture, hoping to show their spiritual beliefs and vibrant culture to the rest of the world This keyboard draws inspiration from the rich history of the Paiwan people, a significant indigenous group of Taiwan Intricately designed by Master Kulele, a metal cut-out piece of a cosmic god is found on the top side of the keyboard The Paiwan people believe that wild boars were placed on this earth by the cosmic god to teach them the meaning of bravery and vigor Therefore, wild boars are highly respected amongst the Paiwan community and are seen as a powerful symbol of strength On the golden backplate, Master Kulele depicts courage and tenacity through an image of Paiwan warriors battling wild boars Combining traditional culture with modern technology is the concept that Ducky created in recent years Combined with traditional techniques and techniques, the keyboard is no longer a cold technology product, but a temperature-filled art Bronze is commonly used as materials for aesthetic creation by the Paiwan society After communicating with Master Kulele Ruladen, copper-red was chosen to be presented on keycaps of this limited edition, plus dye-sublimation techniques featuring various pictograms (e.g ax, bow and arrow, vine) To inject even more Paiwan traditions into this keyboard, four unique dye-sub keycaps inspired by Paiwan glass beads are included in the package Love, courage, nobility, and agility are each represented by these keycaps, significant traits in their history The Ducky Year of the Pig keyboard will be limited to 2019 pieces worldwide, with each keyboard individually numbered for added collectability Design concept & the stories
behind : Kulele Ruladen’s passion is to bring the Formosan culture to light through arts and crafts Over Master Kulele’s career, he has received various international awards, cementing his places as one of the leading artists in all of Taiwan Whether it is to showcase the historical traditions of the community, or to bring up issues of interest of the Taiwanese indigenous people, Kulele conveys their rich and diverse history through contemporary, modern metalwork The wild boar on the spacebar, noticeable hawk feather on its top represents the aristocracy class of men (the sun) and women (lily) The meadow beneath consists of triangular snake totems, which symbolized the ancestor of Paiwan people All the patterns implicate the spirit of Paiwan culture Keycaps
